How to Make The Perfect Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Every Time

Nothing beats a good old peanut butter jelly sandwich. It’s a simple dish that gets me excited every single time.

It reminds me of being a kid growing up when my mom used to make it for me for lunch and snacks.

I like the fact that you don’t need much to make it.

It’s a 3-ingredient meal that anyone can make, even your kiddos.

It consists of peanut butter and fruit preserves — jelly or jam.

The peanut butter and jelly sandwich is affectionately called a PB and J, as we know it.

This tasty American staple meal is a quick way to get a tasty lunch that also got a protein punch.

With healthier bread, PB and J can also easily double as a healthy snack for picky kids at home.

While it’s hard to mess up this impossibly easy salty and sweet sandwich, making it perfect is another.

To get the perfect ratio of the jam and peanut butter, it took some experiments.

And I’m sharing it all with you today.

But I have to admit this peanut butter and jelly sandwich calories are high. If you’re trying to lose weight, you may want to eat just half.

  • 2 slices bread, such as 100% whole wheat
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter, smooth or crunchy
  • 1 tablespoon blueberry jam or strawberry jam. My personal favorite is actually orange marmalade.

    1. Using a table knife to spread peanut butter on the unbuttered side of one slice of bread, and jelly on the other.
    2. Now spread the jelly or jam on top. Cut your peanut butter sandwich in half and enjoy!
